Playing on one of the Philippines’ most demanding championship courses, Enzo Andre T. Cham held his nerve over 54 holes to claim both the Boys 16 & Under title and the Overall Championship at the inaugural Faldo Junior Tour event at Luisita Golf & Country Club.

The 16-year-old from the Philippines posted rounds of 71-74-74 to finish at three over par, navigating Luisita’s 7,200-yard layout, displaying the precision and tenacity required to win junior golf tournaments. The course—recently host to the prestigious Putra Cup—didn’t give anyone an easy time, and Cham’s ability to manage his way around it over three rounds proved the difference.

Mico Ungco finished second at 12 over par, nine shots behind Cham. His second-round 73 was his best effort of the week on a course that punished mistakes and rewarded smart decision-making.

The Girls 16 & Under division produced the tournament’s most dramatic finish. Chloe Ang and Nicole Gan both posted totals of 10 over par (226) after three rounds, forcing a playoff to determine the champion. Ang emerged victorious after the extra holes, while Gan’s closing 73 showed she’d found her rhythm when it mattered most.

In the Boys 21 & Under division, Raphael Casperino took the title at 13 over par with rounds of 75-76-78, finishing well clear of Raphael Bendijo Fernandez. Jenina Sydney Eusebio claimed the Girls 21 & Under crown, with Frances Cate Bautista as runner-up.

The two-day event marked the first time the Faldo Series had come to the Philippines, and the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines conducted its first running of the event. The tournament carried World Amateur Golf Ranking status and delivered the kind of championship test that prepares juniors for what comes next.

Luisita Golf & Country Club has long been a proving ground for the country’s top amateurs, and this week it offered the same examination to a new generation. The strategic bunkering, expansive fairways, and tournament-level conditioning demanded accuracy and course management—skills that will serve these players well as they move up the competitive ladder.

Division winners have earned invitations to the 17th Faldo Series Asia Grand Final at Laguna Lang Co in Vietnam from 22–24 April 2026. The package includes accommodation, transfers, practice rounds, tournament entry, a golf clinic with Sir Nick Faldo, and a gala dinner—the full experience.

The event will return to the Philippines in 2027, establishing a competitive pathway that didn’t exist before. For the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines, it’s a partnership that creates direct routes to regional and international competition. For the players, it’s a chance to test themselves on a serious course in a serious tournament with clear progression if they’re good enough.
